[Auberge Designs Review]- Aatos Loveseat

I purchased the Auberge Designs Aatos Loveseat this summer online after receiving multiple ads on Facebook, Instagram and other social media unethical empires. This company I chose in particular because I planned on getting a dog and didn't want to worry about my couch getting destroyed. The company had good reviews online and the bad reviews seemed to not exist or they were removed in some manner. Just to note that there were low stars for this company on sites, but the reviews themselves seemed to be removed. Now looking back, I figured there was some mischief managed.

The other week I received a notice that my "made to order" couch was being transferred to their Auberge Designs Montreal warehouse and I could go ahead and book my appointment for delivery. They said I could choose a 4-hr delivery window, which was not an option for any day of the week only a 12-hr delivery window...

After the long wait of this couch, I finally received it this week with the rudest delivery company who I shall name- Go Bolt. They were giving me a hard time for not being able to find a parking spot on my street... I could also see they were looking at the door size trying to see if they could perhaps get out of bringing these two pieces up to the third floor, but it fit! Once they left I cut open the plastic packaging that was well sealed. Immediately upon opening the first box, I see two plastic feet from the couch at the bottom of the box. One in okay condition, the other drastically squished with a broken piece of plastic shoved in the area where the foot was attached. I had this sinking feeling of oh no, seriously?

Once I lifted the couch and set it down, I could see that there was no way to fix this foot and it's just very crooked and unstable. Nervously, I opened the other module and it unfortunately was somehow worse. There was a large penis shaped stain on the top of the cushion. Very dry to the touch, there was no water damage at all that could've got in from the sealed packaging. This was clearly a used couch, not made to order in any way. Also appears like someone did this before in retaliation of this company...

Upon an even more detailed inspection, I could see clear sun streaks, heavy dust with further stains, and dog hair showing it was previously used or owned.

My email to Auberge Designs customer support was detailing what I mentioned above and their response was so unhelpful, unsupportive in a gaslighting sort of way. I also called them and talked to an escalation agent, but it was useless. I've attached these below for your viewing pleasure. They also tried to get me to keep the pieces and either get a "replacement" or get a 50% refund.
TLDR folks: they asked me to try to clean the stain, to fix the foot myself and pull the broken plastic out with pliers. Their support emails and call was basically trying to place the blame on anyone but them. They were trying really hard to get me to keep the couch and not allow me a refund or return.

My lovely boyfriend reminded me of the Consumer Protection Act of Quebec that would cover and protect my rights as a Quebec consumer. So I found the clause that was specific for this circumstance, which I will link here in case this happens to you: Consumer Protection Act- 52

After notifying them that this is illegal in Quebec, they were still trying to not lose money from this sale and force me to keep these used modules. Therefore, I sent a formal notice of complaint via the Consumer Protection Act and they changed their tune.

In conclusion after this notice was sent Auberge Designs allowed me to book a return date, but I would get deducted $50 for a restocking fee (of a broken and used couch). This is definitely a day to day for how they run their business. I asked the delivered guys who came to pick it up, "how many other returns are you doing for this company today"... he said four!

I would love to get responses of other peoples' reviews so they can be made public here. Please message me if you have a story you'd like to share.
